UK Tickets Review: Hair
Described as ‘Infectious, outlandish and exuberant’ Hair is exactly that. From the minute the show opens to the final note at the end, Hair is constant energy. The set is multi coloured, yet simple, with the band on stage at the back. The whole cast is on the majority of the time, constantly changing their fabulous hippy outfits. |
Having transferred the entire cast from Broadway, the first time in the history of theatre, the performances were flawless. The show features well known songs such as, ‘Aquarius’, ‘Good Morning Starshine’, ‘Let The Sunshine In’ and the title track ‘Hair’. The show boasts some incredibly talented cast members, with some performances giving me and other audience members goose bumps. |
| There is a loose storyline throughout, but mainly the show is a celebration of the hippy era. Hair oozes fun, with the audience invited onto the stage at the end to join the cast for the last song, ending in hundreds of people all on stage singing and dancing. The show cannot fail to grab attention, with catchy songs, colourful costumes and outrageous antics; Hair is definitely an alternative musical not to be missed, playing at the Gielgud Theatre. |
