Whoopi Goldberg will rejoin the cast of the hit musical comedy Sister Act tonight to complete her run as Mother Superior.  The actress had to drop out of the show in August due to a family emergency back home in the States.

Fans Look Forward to Five Memorable Shows

Whoopi Goldberg will perform five shows this weekend. One on the evening of Friday 22 October, two shows on Saturday 23 October and two more on Monday 25 October.

Whoopi’s previous run, her West End debut, was a huge critical success, with fans queuing around the block for Sister Act tickets and weekly box office records tumbling at the London Palladium.

Sister Act Stars Praised by CEO

Bill Taylor, Stage Entertainment UK CEO, said: “Everyone at Sister Act was devastated for Whoopi when she needed to leave us to return home to be with her family. I think everyone knows what a special person she is, but that she is committed to returning and completing her run at the Palladium leaves me speechless in admiration.  I’d also like to thank the wonderful and gracious Sally Dexter for her understanding and utter professionalism.  It’s an honour to have both of these women as part of our company”.

Wizard of Oz to Open Next Year

At the end of Whoopi’s five show run, Sally Dexter. Dexter will resume the role of Mother Superior until Sister Act closes at the London Palladium on Saturday 30 October, making way for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Wizard of Oz.
