Woman In Black New Cast

The Woman In Black has been making audiences’ in the West End scream for over 20 years and from the 6th April the play will receive a new cast.

New Cast

Current cast Julian Forsythe and Christopher Naylor will step aside to let actors Michael Mears and Orlando Wells become the latest pair to perform in the now classic thriller. Mears is no stranger to the West End, currently playing Foxlip in 'Nation' at the National Theatre. Mears has appeared in 'All’s Well That Ends Well' and 'Harper Regan' at the National Theatre as well. His credits also include 'Measure For Measure', 'The Comedy Of Errors', and 'You Never Can Tell'.

Wells recently starred in the New Orleans inspired ‘Katrina’. West End credits included 'The History Boys' and 'Henry IV' at the Donmar Warehouse. 

 

The Play

The play was adapted from Susan Hill’s 1983 horror novel by Stephen Mallatratt, known for his screen work on television series such as Island At War and Coronation Street. Slightly revised, the play tells the story of solicitor Arthur Kipps’ time at Eel Marsh House and the bizarre and frightening events that followed the funeral of a lonely old woman, guaranteed to make audiences scream, this terrifying play has never moved from its first home in the West End the Fortune Theatre.
