About the London Eye
The London Eye, previously, known as the Millennium Wheel, was constructed in celebration of the new millennium and has become one of London’s most famous landmarks. Eventually opening to the public in March 2000, the London Eye has become such a unique symbol for the city that it is now the focal point for the city’s New Year celebrations. Since opening, the London Eye has taken over 30 million passengers, making it one of the UK’s most popular tourist attractions.

The London Eye is situated on the buzzing South Bank between the Westminster and Hungerford Bridges and is open from 10am until late evening.
