The O2 Arena

Sections:
The O2 Arena, London
About:
The O2 Arena has three main seating areas, the floor, the lower tier and upper tier set up in an amphitheatre arrangement. Because of the versatility of the venue, prices invariably differ for each event, and price bands depend on how the event is to be stage. The arena does, however, boast that there are clear sightlines for every single seat.
Venue build date:
1999
History:
Opened in June 2007 with a number of events aimed at future O2 staff and residents living in the vicinity of the Dome, the O2 was an immediate success, with its first open-to-all event being a sold out performance by Bon Jovi in the 20,000 capacity O2 Arena. The O2 also houses a more intimate 2,350 capacity concert venue Indigo2, a Vue cinema, the 02 Bubble exhibition space and a huge number of restaurants, bars and clubs.
By the end of 2007 the O2 Arena had become the third most popular concert venue in the world, with 2007’s ticket sales exceeding one million. The arena has already played host to a huge number of music legends including Take That, Prince, Smashing Pumpkins, The Eagles, Led Zeppelin, Dolly Parton and the Spice Girls, and while there are many more to come such as Girls Aloud, Celine Dion and Justin Timberlake, the O2 Arena is more than just a music venue.

Other facilities:
With Entertainment Avenue, a parade of bars and restaurants the length and width of New Bond Street, it is quite easy to make a whole morning or afternoon of your visit. However, if you are running late, there are dozens of smaller (and cheaper) food outlets at all levels just outside the doors to the arena itself so you can just grab yourself a slice of pizza, a burger or even Chinese or Indian food that you can eat hot in your seat. No need to worry about queuing for the loos either; the O2 is equipped with 548 toilets. The O2 is air conditioned throughout.
